GM In Trouble – For Real

GM is in frantic talks with the European auto maker Fiat as to reach a deal before the deadline set by the US government that has agreed to provide some cash to give the company time to come up with a deal. They have been making headway but even that isn’t comforting the auto industry who sees a total collapse of the giant and auto industry pioneer that has been seen as one of mis-aimed targets with too many brands under their belt and not enough sales to maintain them.
Profitability is the key and GM has been under strain for a long time due to stiff competition from other auto makers from around the world. This dilemma for the auto maker is shaking the auto industry as a whole including the many insurance firms that have brands from the automaker under their policy coverage. They may have to drop or choose alternate methods of continuing to provide service and coverage as the automaker continues to go into it’s death throes.
